This film is arguably one of the best one-shot films to date! The art of one-shot tracks the emotional and physical journey the cast undertakes, and with the beautifully designed setting of a restaurant, the title truly does explore the heat generated in a busy kitchen.

The depth of anger and temper bottled within Andy Jones whilst clearly constantly distracted is a masterpiece portrayed by Stephen Graham. Personally feeling that this is one of Graham’s performances to date, highlighting his vulnerability but also his explosivity Scouse interior. Obviously occupied elsewhere his mind is also looking out for the wider team. And the direction by Philip Barantini showcases the incredible ensemble and their own rollercoaster of emotions, from self-harming to racial experiences, this plot touches on the finer details in life that individuals go through yet brings them together effortlessly.

Vinette Robinson holds her own extremely well and is pivotal in controlling the constant simmer of emotions. With Graham fracturing by the second to the anger of those around, including the floor staff and guests Robinson becomes the voice of calm and reason. That is until she has her own explosion of uncontrollability in holding back towards the floor manager Beth (Alice Feetham)

With the drama that the restaurant business throws at these characters the dynamic turns and troubles they run into gives this film a concept defined by its own existence. A film to this degree could easily be adapted as an immersive theatre piece and would no doubt captivate the audience with such a silent and yet demanding finale.
